I have turned off the feature for the Canvas Inbox to be sent to my email because it was overwhelming with other school-related emails. I could never get my phone to sync up with getting alerts from canvas inbox, however when it is just coming to canvas I get NO alerts now.

Is there a way to set up my phone number (without using email) to receive alerts?

Is there a feature to get a "ding" sound only through canvas when receiving an inbox message?

Hi!

While SMS notifications are no longer supported, you can use the Canvas app that matches your role -- Student, Teacher, or Parent (Observer). There, you can set your notification preferences separate from any/none you select for email.
