but can only get one that looks like:

Any ideas?

Try one of these:

\overset{\Huge\frown}{ICK}

\overparen{ICK}

Thank you. An hour of my time wasted for something that should have been

easy. The overparen does not work. The Huge does.

When you say \overparen does not work, you mean for what you need or not at all?
