Mic level control in Media Comment

Whenever I try to record a media comment in response to students, it appears that Canvas auto-adjusts the levels. Since I have them set very specifically, it ends up just distorting the audio because it basically just turns it up to 100. Is there a way to disable/stop canvas from doing this?
