NearPod through Canvas asking students to login

So I use NearPod and integrate the NearPod lessons into my Canvas site. It used to be flawless but lately it will randomly ask students to sign in with one of four options - Google, office 365, and 2 other options I don’t recall. Why is it randomly doing this to some students and not others? Students shouldn’t have to sign into NearPod from within Canvas as it’s already integrated. It usually just ask for their name then they hit begin lesson. Students then email me and say hey can’t get into the lesson. Any ideas?

I have a couple general suggestions, however I'm not really an expert with NearPod. To begin, are you using Canvas Free for Teacher? I wonder if you integrated it yourself into your course that they added some security policy, and that if the students sign out and don't login for so much time, it asks them to login, but for the students that don't sign out or close the browser completely, it would keep them signed in and make it easier to sign in.

However if you're using a paid Canvas Account and your administrator integrated it into all of the Canvas courses, I'd recommend reaching out to your admin to see if they enabled some security thing on there that requires students to re-sign in after so much time, especially if they close the browser or the app or something.
