Is it possible to add images to multiple choice questions in the new quiz engine? If so, how does one do this?

New quiz does allow you insert graphics into MC question answers. Just open up the editor and insert.

Hmm, my multiple choice questions don't have the option to open the editor toolbar. I only see the editor button () on the title and quiz description. See attached screenshot.

Yes, you can do that using the New Quizzes editor. Once you start to type the answer choice, the formatting toolbar will appear; what worked well for me is to use the Upload Media button.

While not every question type allows rich formatting of answer choices, Multiple Choice and similar types do allow this.
