[ARCHIVED] Randomizing the Order of Questions

I am teaching a large class of 160 students.  Cheating is rampant because I cannot figure out how to get Canvas to shuffle the order of questions for each exam.   I can shuffle answers but not questions.

I don't have time to create 4 different forms and randomly assign them to 160 students.  There has to be a way to do this.  There are 100 questions. This is a final exam. It is multiple choice.   I thought the feature called group questions would do it but it does nothing to the order.  I do NOT want to physically change the order of questions for 160 students. Arrrrrgh.

In Classic Quizzes, you can use a Question Group to randomly select questions from a question bank, and depending on the size of the question bank your students will be presented with a different set of questions. How do I create a quiz with a question group to randomize quiz questions?

So it sounds like I have to use the New Quizzes?  This is a serious issue.  How do I move questions from a classic quiz to a new quiz?  I am tearing my hair out.  We are teaching pit classes online.  Students are calling each other up and taking exams together.  This is a final exam.  This is eating all of my time.

As shown in the Guides I provided, this can be done in classic quizzes too, you just need to use question banks. In New Quizzes they are called Item Banks. But if you want to do them in New Quizzes (if your school has made that tool available) this guide will show you how to move classic quizzes to New Quizzes How do I migrate a Canvas quiz to New Quizzes? But, you will still need to use an Item Bank to randomize the questions.

There are many other ways to make quizzes more secure and prevent cheating, including using tools like the Respondus Lockdown Browser/Monitor.

This sounds like I need to use new quizzes but even if I do that, it basically is creating one test in which the questions are randomized in their order.  In face to face instruction we used 4 different forms in the teaching pits to reduce cheating.  This is not solving my issue.  I am trying to find a way to make sure each student has the same test but the questions are in a different order.

This is a 100 question final exam.  I do not have the energy to manually type in more than 100 questions so that the computer can choose 100.  I simply want the 100 questions I create to be randomized for each student taking this test.  I see no way of doing this.  There are 160 students in this course.

This is the same question I have.  I do not see a way to randomize the questions.  I do pooled questions for some and those are random, but I can't find a way to make the entire "quiz" randomize the question order.  I'm very disappointed. I'm moving from Blackboard to Canvas and Blackboard had that feature.
