Reset Course Content Question

I have a course that is now completed and I am using the question banks I created during that course in a new course. I want to edit some of the questions in the banks. Canvas won't allow me to edit the questions because those questions have already been answered by other students.
I was considering a reset of the course content on the first course but the warning comes up that states question banks associated will be deleted. Is this only for the course I am resetting or ALL courses that use those question banks?
Any productive suggestions or direction is most welcome here. Thank you so much in advance.
