Small creation box in announcements

The new format for announcements- discussions has a small creation box.  I can´t find a way to enlarge it other than full screen which is not helpful.  We use a lot of web tools and  pictures in announcements.  It´s difficult to create in that small space.  Is there another option?

Patricia, drag the paired ellipses icon that is to the bottom right of the editor window to expand it's height.
