Speedgrader Annotation Tool Glitches

I've searched for others experiencing this but not found anyone posting, so maybe it is me but.... I have never had a glitch free experience using annotation tools in speedgrader- the following are the most common:
1) When highlighting text there is limited control and it often ends up highlighting whole paragraphs or pages due to a small mouse movement. It is wildly frustrating and forces me to select text with the cursor then hit highlight rather than using the highlight tool directly.
2) When using either highlighter or the point annotation I will complete a highlight and comment or point annotation and move on to the rest of the paper. When I go to use the same tool again, I click the assignment where I want to place the annotation or highlight and the browser immediately brings me back up to the last place I commented- and highlights/adds a point. I then have to delete it, scroll all the way back down attempting to find my place and re-try. This can happen several times before it correctly adds the annotation.
What gives? I love speedgrader, but this seriously frustrates me and slows down my use of the tool.
