[ARCHIVED] Student Login Problem

I've got a student who is unable to login to his account. We use free-for-teacher, and his username shows up as his user number, and the site asks for a password even though he never set up his account. When we try the "forgot password" link he gets an email telling him to contact his admin rather than just letting him change passwords. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hi Mike,
The student should have gotten a "confirmation" email when he initially entered the email address to set up his account. If possible, he should go back and find that email, since it will have a link to let him create a password for his account.
If he has no lock there, the best thing for the student to do is to click on the "Help" link in the lower left corner of the login page.
