Student view can't access dahsboard

I'm building a course in Canvas. When I go into Student View, the 'test' student cannot access the dashboard. An error message appears saying "access denied'. Does anyone know why?

Hi ~ That's a good question! I guess I haven't thought too much about it before. My guess is that the Student View is designed for a specific course. That student won't reflect YOUR permissions on the dashboard. You essentially have a different Student for each course to preview content.
