I have recently added students to a new course page. When I added the students, they were added by their email addresses without their names. The students have manually changed their names in their profile, but these names have not synced over to the course page. Their Canvas accounts are not attached to any grade system.
Is there a way to get their edited names to sync to the course page or is my mistake of not adding the names at the beginning permanent?

When you added students to your course by email without their names, their accounts were created with blank or email-based names. A student changing their name in their profile only changes their display name, not their official full name used for the course roster.
The Best thing to do here is Ask your Canvas administrator or your school's IT support to update the students' official "full names."
