[ARCHIVED] Update the list of the participants in Collaboration group assignment

Hi, everyone,
I created an ice-breaker group assignment for all the students. Most of the students can access the assignment except the students I added after the first day of the class.
I can add new students to the collaborative list of the ice-breaking assignment, but when I click ‘’Update collaboration’’, I get the message ‘’Collaboration update failed’’.
For some reason, I cannot update the existing list of the participants to allow all students to access the assignment.

It looks that I cannot update the collaboration after students already started the assignment. Is this the case?
Any suggestions?

Thank you for your help.

Elena

Hi @elena_kobzeva

You need to add your new students to one of the existing Canvas course groups, then they should be able to participate in the group assignment.

Learn more in the Groups chapter of the Canvas Instructor Guide. You might also want to check out How do I assign an assignment to a course group?
