User Roles and Permissions

I'm having trouble finding specific information about the user roles listed in Canvas's "People" section. In particular, what's the difference between the permissions for an "Assistant" and those for a "TA" (both are included), and what are a "Participant"'s capabilities?

Hi,  @chartay  Welcome to the Canvas Community!

The standard (out-of-the-box) roles in Canvas are documented in What user roles and permissions are available in Canvas?  As you'll see in the documentation, "Participant" and "Assistant" are not standard roles; most likely they are custom roles that were created by your institution. Please ask the local Canvas admin for your university for additional information about what permissions are associated with those roles.
