Yes you can release both points and comments to students.

My query was if we could release the feedback ONLY to the students and NOT the points that we give as marks.

If yes, what would be the procedure.

I see. Then perhaps set the assignments up as complete/incomplete, without points attached. That's what we do. Works a treat.
