Using the Rest and Data API to make dashboards using Power BI or Tableau

Hey

As it says in the subject line, we are interested in exploring using the Rest and Data API to make meaningful dashboards on what students are doing/have done on Canvas. 

I am open to hearing about any and all leads/information from the very basic to the very advanced.  If I can't understand it, we have a team of motivated data analysts and full-stack devs working on this project who will so please - anything that might be useful is greatly appreciated.  We're just trying to shorten the learning curve/development process.

Also very interested in hearing about any successful dashboards that people have made using these - we want to get this moving asap.
