Hello Community,
I am wondering if anyone can speak to moving course content from Rise 360 to Canvas? I want to use only the Canvas LMS instead of exporting SCORM files from Rise 360. The reasons are to save budget and to facilitate easier translating into different languages.
My plan is to create a doc to illustrate how to best recreate or 'mimic' Rise 360 content in a Canvas environment to guide the new course build. To review and update the course content, I will create PDFs of Rise 360 content and move into Word for easy collaboration on edits across multiple stakeholders.
Has anyone done this before? Any suggestions? How scared should I be? 😉
Interesting. I am planning to do the opposite because I am told I must begin to manage my courses in two different LMS platforms. One for people on the payroll and another for those who need training but are not on the payroll. If you have someone on staff who knows HTML, it is not too hard. Someone from Penn State gave me a link to their canvas course on how to make a canvas course that had great code snippets that could be used to create decent looking courses. Penn State eventually locked down the course, but I already had built my courses, so I have the snippets I found most useful embedded in my courses already. The code was vetted to meet accessibility standards and I am happy with the result. My issue is I do not wish to update two substantially different courses, so I am getting ready to do a test run with a course I just made in RISE 360, to see how it behaves in Canvas.
I thought rise 360 courses could be translated pretty easily - is this not true? I can always lean on the department that handles translations, but that will definitely add a time component to rolling things out.
