[ARCHIVED] What does the clock sign in the assignment column mean?

All students have submitted their assignment on time. Some of them have a clock sign instead of the green square. When I click on it, it directs me the same way as the green square to the paper. Thanks

If you are talking about the gradebook, then these two lessons from the Canvas Instructor Guide may help.

Unless you've changed it, green means the assignment was resubmitted.

I'm not sure what you mean by a clock sign, but there is an assignment icon that looks like a document with a small circle around an exclamation point. Here's what it looks like when greatly enlarged:

That icon means that the assignment is not graded and needs action from you.

I don't think he means the "needs to be graded" icon. We all know what that means. He's talking about the Turnitin icons - hence the "green square." Occasionally a small clock icon appears in the upper right corner of a grade cell where there would otherwise be a green or yellow or red square based on the Turnitin plagiarism check. The clock means the software is "still checking" the document (i.e. there's been a glitch with turnitin).
