Why does the comment box for assignments remove your cursor when you have already started typing a comment

I type robust comments to students using the assignment comment box in Canvas.

I start typing in the box, canvas refreshes on its own, and the cursor is no longer in the box. I type fast and when I look at the box, none of my typing has been entered in the box,.

This needs to be fixed ON THE CANVAS SIDE. As it is, the comment box has become a major annoyance rather than a useful tool to give student feedback.

This has been reported before, and it seems to be related to the comments library. Turning it off is the way to fix it for now.

You have to turn off the comments library to fix it. That is what worked (in other words, when you are typing a comment, if suggestions from the library pop up, then that is what is causing the cursor issue -- just turn that feature off -- otherwise you will go insane ! )
