Why was a Student Denied Access after cross-listing a course?

After cross listing two sections into one course, one student (out of about 30) was denied access. I cannot find anything about others having this issue.  I de-cross listed in order to give the student access to content, but would like to cross-list again.  What did I do wrong?

Hello sclegg...

I'm not sure if this will apply in your situation, but after you cross-list your courses together, do the following:

  1. Click on course "Settings".
  2. Click on the "Sections" tab.
  3. Click on one of the sections.  Do you see any dates listed for that particular section?  If so, click on the "Edit Section" button and remove any start/end dates.
  4. Click "Update Section".

Repeat the above steps for the other sections in this course.  As long as you have start and end dates properly set in the "Settings" >> "Course Details" tab, your students should all be able to access the course at the same time.
