a set of multiple modules in commons

We'd like to share a set of 2 interacting modules into Commons.

These modules are  a part of a course that we share in commons module by module. But we need to share these two modules as a set.

Is there a way to share the set as one commons item?

So far, it seems like it's only possible to share a full course or a single item (module), but not the possibility to share two items into 1 commons.

Hey @quinten_verdonc!

This is a great question! Here are three possible solutions that could help your situation.

Option 1:

  1. Append the text to each module's title "Part 1/2" and "Part 2/2".
  2. Share each module to the Commons separately, but let instructors know to import both modules.

Option 2:

For this option, you would need a second course that is more of a sandbox course.  You may call it something different, but this is a course where you can experiment and it won't affect any of your other published courses.  Kind of a "play" area.

  1. In your sandbox course, reset the course content so that the course is empty. (Settings > Reset Course Content)
  2. Copy / Import the two modules into your sandbox course
  3. Share your sandbox course to the Commons
  4. Have your instructors import the sandbox course into
    1. This should add the imported course containing the two modules to whatever is already in the course and not affect any content that currently exists in the instructors' courses.

Option 3:

  1. Combine the two modules into a single module (for the purpose of sharing to the Commons)
    1. Use a text header in the combined module to let instructors know where the two modules should be split.
    2. Include a page (that can be deleted later) with directions for instructors explaining how to separate the content from into two separate modules.
  2. Share the combined module to the Commons
  3. Have your instructors import the combined module into their courses and separate the content into two modules.

Hopefully one of these options will be beneficial to your needs.
