If a student wants to access a course offline, what is the difference between exporting the course (option at the top right of the module page) and downloading an ePub of the course?

I *think* that the following two Guides might help to explain the differences between the ePub file and the export option.  Specifically, take a look at the information given in the light blue boxes at the top of each Guide:
