Hi  @brantp  Welcome to the Canvas Community. Assuming your institution has it, check under Settings on the course menu and then click the Navigation tab.  You will likely see Attendance under the hidden items at the bottom.  It's simply a matter to click-and-dragging it up to the top or clicking the 3-dotted options icon next to it and selecting Enable.  From there, the very first time you take attendance in a class it will basically be activated automatically.  BEFORE you do any of this, however, be sure you have a firm understanding of how it works, starting here How do I use the Roll Call Attendance tool in a course? , and proceeding by clicking the link next to NEXT TOPIC at the bottom.  There are many things to be aware of, not the least of which is that it will automatically be worth 100 points by default unless you change that immediately after taking attendance the first time, as covered  here: https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-12871-4152430299

Hi Sharon,

Canvas has a built-in attendance tool called "Roll Call Attendance".

If the Roll Call Attendance tool is available on your school's Canvas server, you should see "Attendance" listed on the course menu at the left of the screen. You may need to go under Settings > Navigation in the course and enable it.
