I have students who created an account and the next day they were not able to sign into the account.  Any suggestions of ways to prevent this from happening?

Hi  @mferguson1  Welcome to the Canvas Community. 

Great question. And lucky students having their teacher allow this. 

My guess is that the students did not remember their username or password. 

Did they follow what is here? How do I sign up for a Canvas account as an instructor? 

There is a Help option here https://www.instructure.com/canvas/login/free-for-teacher as well as a 'Forgot my password'.
