problems with classic quizzes

Please clarify to those who use Classic Quizzes and build their quiz in such a way that the quiz starts and ends during the class period-- for example, a quiz that is set up for all but DASS students to start on Oct. 15 at 3 p.m. (Available from) and ending the same day at 3:45 p.m. (Until). For DASS students, the +Add function should be set for the same start time, but the ending time can be set for the extended time, such as ending at 4:15 p.m. (Until).

The secret to not cutting your DASS students short on their extended time is to leave the Time Limit box unchecked. This method of accommodating students with disabilities makes it easy to identify those students who need extended time, and to set up your in-class quiz or exam, to accommodate their needs. The Moderate Quiz function is more complicated, and should be used for those exams or quizzes that are taken over a number of days and not taken within the normal class period time.

New Quizzes does not provide an easy method of accommodating DASS students for quizzes, exams, etc. that are given within a specified time limit and during a given class period.

Thank you for clarifying your quiz set up on Canvas, and make it user friendly for instructors trying to accommodate students with learning differences.
