What will be the advantages of sharing the item bank to a course? I realize the new checkbox feature makes this easier to do than the current workflow, but in the current workflow I was not able to find what I gained by sharing a bank to a course. In my mind, a bank linked to the course should show up when that course is copied, shared/imported via Commons, or when a single quiz using that bank is direct shared with another colleague. While testing the feature this winter to provide guidance to one of my staff member I was not able to find any easy way to share those item banks. We could share his quizzes and the teachers could view the questions in Preview, but they could not open the banks or acquire their own copy. I would love some clarification on the intended workflow.

Sharing with the course gives other instructors in the course access to the questions in the bank.

Thank you for adding the Share with <Course Name> checkbox when creating new Item Banks.  This is an important step forward in the transparency of item bank sharing.  I'd like to suggest another related change.  When an instructor uses as existing item bank that has not yet been shared with the course to pull individual questions or to create a random draw section, it would be nice if the instructor could check a box to share the bank with the course.  Otherwise, the results is the same as for new banks prior to the addition of the checkbox.  Questions from an item bank are incorporated into a quiz and other instructors in the course have no access to the bank or its questions.

Based on my testing, the "share item bank with current course" checkbox is unchecked by default, and must be checked each time a new bank is created, regardless of the user's prior selection.

I think this checkbox should be checked by default, so that it functions consistently with question banks (or, at the least, be sticky and remember a user's last choice). 

If the checkbox is unchecked by default, we will continue to encounter issues in which an instructor creates a lot of item banks with the assumption that they will automatically be shared, and then finds themself in a painful situation when they realize that is not the case and have to manually share dozens or hundreds of item banks with a new instructor.
