What we've found to be most helpful for others in your shoes is to completely uninstall the screen recorder from your computer, then reopening Canvas Studio.
After selecting the Screencast-o-Matic option, you should be prompted to re-download the screen recorder to the newest version. This process has resolved similar issues for other users.
If you are using a Mac, after downloading the application, try waiting an additional 30–60 seconds after pressing record, as the screen recorder software may take some time to launch. If the problem persists, clearing your browser’s cache and cookies has also helped some users resolve Studio loading issues.
