video quiz not working for teacher or student

I have been creating Canvas Studio video quizzes successfully since 2020.

Yesterday I made a video quiz for a lecture video I recorded using the Screen Capture software that is part of Canvas Studio (not an imported video). Later that day, I created a video quiz for it and assigned it to students.

Today, both myself and students cannot access the video quiz assignment. We are all receiving the same error message: "Something went wrong preparing your quiz." There is an option to click "Retry," at which point it says "We are preparing your quiz, please check back later." Checking back later does not seem to help. When I try to edit the video quiz in Studio, I get the message "Something went wrong preparing your quiz template."

Is there any hope for this video quiz magically fixing itself? I can't even edit it, so I can't view the questions I made to copy/paste into a new quiz.  The video itself works fine. I am able to embed it in an assignment and students are able to view it, it's just the video quiz that isn't working.

This is very interesting... I just played around with studio quizzes myself and didn't experience any issues. Are you still experiencing this issue? Have you tried making any additional quizzes, and if so have you gotten the same result?

I would recommend ensuring that when you utilize the RCE to embed your Canvas Studio media into your course, that you made sure to import the questions that you created. This appears on the right side when it provides you the options such as allowing students to download the media and other things right before you embed it. Not selecting those questions to be imported for the quiz would likely cause an error. 

if you do that and it still experiences those issues, your best bet would to reach out to Canvas support directly using the help button on the global navigation bar of your account and by clicking report a problem.
