API Assistance with Canvas Data 1 - Last 3 Months

I'm currently using an API key and secret to make API calls to Canvas, but I'm facing an issue where it downloads the full dataset every time. I'm looking for assistance on how to efficiently query and download only the request data for the last 3 months.

Considering Canvas Data 1 is about to reach end of life at the end of December, it would probably be best to invest your development time in scripts for Canvas Data 2.
