Essay Question on Quizzes

Does anyone know if there is a way to write comments on essay questions in Quizzes.  Language teachers are expressing a need for this on our campus, and I am thinking this could be a popular feature on quizzes.

Hi  @mmoore1 ‌. I wondered if you were asking about giving feedback on the Essay or File Upload question types, so I thought of both. I made a video showing what things look like from student and teacher perspectives. I discovered a couple of things that apply to both question types and I demonstrate those in the embedded silent video:

• The general feedback on either question is immediately visible to students when they submit the quiz
• Neither question type allows for inline commenting in the SpeedGrader

I hope this helps. I saw your question in the Canvas Developers group and so wonder if there is a developer angle here that I missed.

Thanks  @ProfessorBeyrer ‌ ! I needed a refresher.  I also found out it does not show if a teacher chooses not to show answers to students.
