This seems like an obvious question so apologies if I've missed the documentation, but I can't figure out how one gets an app added to the Canvas App Store (i.e., the list of apps shown when you go to Admin > Settings > Apps). I've Googled it and scoured the canvas LTI docs but I can't find anything about Consumer Keys or Shared Secrets for apps either.
Solved! Go to Solution.
The Apps that show up in Canvas come from the Edu App Center and you can submit App there and then either have the just available to your local Canvas instance, or publicly (subject to approval by Instructure).
There's more details on how you manage the Apps that appear in Canvas on: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Admin-Guide/How-do-I-manage-an-Edu-App-Center-allow-list-in-Canva...
However at the moment the Edu App Center only supports LTI 1.1 tools (old standard) so if you've developed a LTI 1.3 tool (recommended these days), there doesn't seem to be a simple way to get it appearing in Edu App Center.

Ugh that lack of 1.3 access is really frustrating but also explains why adding an app via link through Settings > Apps expects an XML type config.
Do you know how Partner apps tie into all of this? I've been going through the process of becoming a community partner but then suddenly realized that that's not how you get on the main Apps list in Canvas and stopped. What's the point of being on the community partners apps list?
Yeah, Instructure are currently working on LTI 1.3 dynamic registration and I'd expected it to be released to customers soon (you can see the change changes here: https://github.com/search?q=repo%3Ainstructure%2Fcanvas-lms+dynamic+registration&type=commits). It would be nice if Instructure added support to Edu App Center for LTI 1.3 dynamic registration, if you find anything out about this I'd be interested.
From Canvas Partner support when I asked about app center LTI 1.3 support:
> We will be investing in our install process this year, including a new app library experience which will support LTI 1.3 apps.
Thank you. It looks like that's stalled in QA? Do you know of any other way to see about projected timeframe for the release?
I couldn't find a product or partner contact - we have customers who want to start using our 1.3-based integration, and having dynamic registration would really help.
