Multiple Due Dates for Discussion Redesign

For the discussion redesign, consider allowing instructors to assign multiple due dates within a discussion post—one for the original post and another for the replies. These due dates will also benefit students as they will appear on their to-do lists.

This feature is already on the Roadmap to be developed. The name is the feature is called "Checkpoints" and is currently scheduled for release in Q1.

Hi @wakimsu,
To add some clarity, the "assign to" changes are not the same as checkpoints. I think Instructure originally hoped to release checkpoints before the Discussion Redesign enforcement in July, but a couple months ago posted that the checkpoints were delayed to Q3 2024, see Check in on Checkpoints - Instructure Community - 605148 for more info. So, the good news is that Instructure knows what they have released so far is not checkpoints, but the bad news is that you may have to wait a month or two more for checkpoints to come out, assuming all of the development and testing goes well.
