New Discussion - Can't select/change Anonymous Discussion when created through Modules

We use the Module layout at our college. As such, we promote setting up as much as possible through + Module options.

We found when +Module adding a discussion the creator doesn't have the option to change "Anonymous Discussion".

However when created through Discussion, the user can select the various "Anonymous Discussion" options.

Support provided "just use the discussion tab to create them".

Why should a feature be restricted no matter how it's created?

I hadn't tried this before reading the post from @bdye  so checked it out.  When the discussion is created by using [Create Topic]  in a module, you still see the Anonymous options but they are locked so can't be selected. It seems odd.

I second this issue as a roadblock, as it adds an extra step in the workflow regardless of the chosen solution.

For reference, with the upcoming change, I'm suggesting having Unpublished, Anonymous Discussions of both types (Partial & Full) that can be duplicated within the Modules page to eliminate navigating to the Discussions page just to create an Anonymous Discussion. This is a slight work around, but still adds a step beyond [Create Topic] > Edit > Select Anonymous Discussion Setting. You also have to create the initial Anonymous Discussions in the Discussion page anyways, so it is hardly a way to avoid that step. Moreso an attempt at limiting the number of times you'd have to visit the Discussion page to create an Anonymous Discussion.

I don't understand why this feature is restricted through the Modules page, even when creating a discussion within an Unpublished Module. I'm hoping for a more streamlined approach.
