Existing Science Document Additions for States (April 2022)
In the past, we have captured the by DCI and by Topic standard arrangements of states that adopted or based their standards on NGSS. These documents, in many cases, have not reflected the foundational dimensions of SEP, CCC, and DCI statements. In order to better support our clients’ needs, we are now working to capture the state-specific three dimensions documents if they are different from the National version of NGSS.
How will this change impact the standards data?
You will begin to see new sections for Crosscutting Concepts, Science and Engineering Practices, and/or, Disciplinary Core Ideas added to existing Science documents where they are found associated with the state documents.
How will this change impact alignments?
Existing alignments between standards and assets will not change. These newly captured sections will, however, allow you to align directly to the three dimensions. We will also be creating derivative relationships between these documents and NGSS.
When is this change taking effect?
We will be rolling out these captures throughout 2022, starting on 4/15/22 with South Carolina, Missouri, and Louisiana.
What action must I take?
If you are uninterested in the three dimensions, you can turn off those sections in your account.
