The subject explains what I want to do. I would like to create assignments that accept Google Doc submissions. How do I do that?
Solved! Go to Solution.
The Free for Teachers Server does not have Google Drive enabled as an assignment option, which is a requirement per the Canvas Guides document on how to upload a file from Google Drive as an assignment submission. However, you can still use Google Docs to help students complete assignments. I do this in my history classes, where I have created a template that guides students on how to complete my writing assignments. I include the share link to the Google Doc in the assignment instructions along with an explanation that they can either download the file to edit in MS Word file or they can make a copy in their personal Google Drive and edit there before downloading as MS Word (or PDF) for submission.
