Delete account or email

I created a canvas account as a teacher, with an incorrect email address. I need to delete the account in order to reuse the email address properly in the new account. How can I delete the old account?

Thank you for your attention, in advance. I don't know how you can identify the Account to be deleted, nor if it is allowed to try to specify it by this means: but the Account that I want to delete, and that I confirm now, corresponds to the username "Test2".

I created a student account for a course and free teacher account as a test. Now I no longer can view my account as a student and view my course materials, syllabus, etc. It looks like the best solution is to delete the free teacher account. Please let me know if that is possible. Thank you!

You can use Student View or add a +1 to the end of your email to create an alias. (namename+1@institution.com)

I have a related question.  Can you also delete a student account?  Our district reuses old email addresses once students leave.  I have a student with a duplicate email address as a previous student.  Can I also have that student account deleted?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I tried "Close account" in my settings but it only deletes my forum profile, i want to delete my account in: "https://canvas.instructure.com/" with the username: "D_20193090_MohammedAlaa"

Hi, I am having a similar issue and I need my Canvas account deleted. It is the one associated with my current profile. I was trying to log in to a state site using my school's instructure canvas, but I used the wrong email and it created a new, separate account.

Hi @TyannaBacchus ,

If you're attempting to join a course as a student, you're still able to do that under your teacher-based account. Canvas doesn't have specific account types, it only goes off of course roles.
