I'm a new user to Canvas as an instructor (FFT).
Is there a way to set a grading system for quizzes to pass/fail, with passing score set at 80% or higher?
And if the student fails, is there a way for Canvas to have it automatically allow a retake of the quiz?

Hello @AshleyColnett
Thank you for contacting Canvas Support. We're sorry to hear you've been experiencing issues with setting quizzes at pass/fail. Currently, classic quizzes does not have this feature and only assignments or discussions do. However, New Quizzes can be set to complete/incomplete just like an assignment. If you want to create a requirement that students cannot proceed unless they hit 80% your best bet is to implement Mastery Paths/Mastery Connect. This will divvy students out based on their scores to proceed on, re-do the test, try another assignment, etc. However, it can be a bit complicated but the guides can be helpful. Additionally, you could use module requirements/prerequisites but Mastery Paths is more what you likely want. You are also welcome to contact Canvas directly.
