What is the maximum number of participants that can enroll in a course on the Free Canvas Platform?

I am an instructor using the Free Canvas platform. What is the maximum number of participants who can register for and complete a course?

Also, participants must complete the course within 30 calendar days. Is there a way to remove their access to the course after 30 days without deleting their data from the platform? I think the answer is to "deactivate" their account but I'm not quite sure.

There is no limit to how many users you can have enrolled in your Canvas course. I am aware of some courses that have hundreds of people enrolled. When it comes to removing their access, if you're looking to purposely lock them out of the course, I recommend using course start and end dates, and ensuring you have the option where students are unable to participate / access the course after or before those dates are ticked on via your settings. You can also create different sections and provide each section with their own unique start and end date. However, if you're planning on using Canvas year after year, I recommend creating / copying a new course so those users aren't enrolled into it. Manually deactivating or deleting user enrollments can be very time consuming, depending on the amount of people you have in your course.

I have a second question that is unrelated to the first. My second question is, is there a way to automate certificates of completion when participants complete the course? I have the certificate template and would need the system to insert the participant's name into the document and then make it available to the participant once they complete all tasks. Is that something Canvas or one of the connected apps might offer? If not, is there a way to automate a notification when participants complete the course (compared to notifications about assignment completion)?
