Absent status

It would be very helpful to have some more options for assignment statuses. Some that would be helpful are: absent and redone

I, too, would like to see an absent option.  My building needs this because of our efforts to monitor missing assignments.

Problem statement:

Unable to mark an assignment as Absent rather than Late or Missing.

Proposed solution:

By including another label teachers can mark if an assignment was missing due to an absence, thus allowing the student extra time to make up the assignment without being marked late.

Comments from Instructure

As part of the new Ideas & Themes process, all ideas in Idea Conversations were reviewed by the Product Team. Any Idea that was associated with an identified theme was moved to the new Idea & Themes space. Any Idea that was not part of the move is being marked as Archived. This will preserve the history of the conversations while also letting Community members know that Instructure will not explore the request at this time.
