I think these are two separate suggestions; I would definitely be up for locking content while someone is editing, or at the very least providing a clear alert to say that someone is currently editing.

I have a Teaching Assistant role on a large course with 40-50 teaching contributors, and I have a hard enough time keeping on top of correcting any link errors and unifying accessible formatting across the course - but far too often I have fixed a page, only to come back 20mins later and find it has reverted, because someone was also editing the original page at the same time as I was, and they saved their edits after me.

As part of the new Ideas & Themes process, all ideas in Idea Conversations were reviewed by the Product Team. Any Idea that was associated with an identified theme was moved to the new Idea & Themes space. Any Idea that was not part of the move is being marked as Archived. This will preserve the history of the conversations while also letting Community members know that Instructure will not explore the request at this time.
