Turn off notification number next to Inbox

I would like to turn off the number next to the Inbox button on the left bar, which shows the number of unread messages. I only read messages during a certain point in the day, and seeing this number continuously is stressful. Less stress, please, especially during these times.

@slarwood, ask your institution's Canvas administrators to look into "Conversations Inbox Opt-Out", one of several "Hidden" Feature Options which can be arranged through Canvas Customer Success.  In brief, this option ensures each student message is sent to you ASAP to your email address -- and it also hides the unread messages count badge!

As part of the new Ideas & Themes process, all ideas in Idea Conversations were reviewed by the Product Team. Any Idea that was associated with an identified theme was moved to the new Idea & Themes space. Any Idea that was not part of the move is being marked as Archived. This will preserve the history of the conversations while also letting Community members know that Instructure will not explore the request at this time.
