Use Display Name (not Full Name) in Chats

We are having a big problem with Chats for our students who have had a Display Name change.  Chats uses the Full Name instead of Display Name. I searched and found the following from this Canvas Guides page:

  • Full Name [1] is used for the Gradebook and Grades pages, Chat, People, and SIS imports.
  • Display Name [2] is how other users will see your name in Announcements, Conferences, Conversations, and Discussion

It is bizarre that Chat is included in the Full Name and not Display Name function. Please fix this ASAP

As part of the new Ideas & Themes process, all ideas in Idea Conversations were reviewed by the Product Team. Any Idea that was associated with an identified theme was moved to the new Idea & Themes space. Any Idea that was not part of the move is being marked as Archived. This will preserve the history of the conversations while also letting Community members know that Instructure will not explore the request at this time.
