To support better decision-making and cleaner data reporting, Impact Content is rolling out two important updates regarding Out-of-the-Box (OOTB) LTI Launch-only monitors and the Campaign Monitors Report.
First, the OOTB LTI Launch-only monitors will be categorized as legacy.
Second, the Campaign Monitors Report will be deprecated, with its content either remaining in more meaningful existing monitor categories or being categorized as legacy.
Note: These updates will go live on May 20, 2025. Be sure to check out the guide on how to manage and preserve monitor data.
Impact has provided a robust set of OOTB monitors designed to track LTI tool launches. Each monitor is associated with a specific LTI tool and categorized accordingly.
Now, many of these LTI launch-only monitors, available within your Impact Dashboard, can also be found in the new LTI Usage feature set. This enhancement enables you to view, analyze, and act on launch data for any or all of the LTI tools within your Canvas instance, offering deeper insights and improved data visualization.
With LTI Usage enabling more effective data visualization and analysis, the existing OOTB LTI launch-only monitors will now be assigned the Legacy Monitors Tool Category. As part of this transition, they will be categorized in a new Legacy Monitor Category (called Legacy LTI launch-only Monitors) within the Integrated Tools Report. This change will only address OOTB launch only monitors; no locally created monitors for homegrown tools or redirects will be affected.
This update ensures a more streamlined and comprehensive approach to monitoring LTI tool usage empowering you with better tools for decision making and engagement.
To maintain a clean and organized Impact Dashboard, and to ensure that all key monitors are properly categorized, regular Updates are carried out on existing Reporting Templates. The Campaign Monitors Report currently includes monitors that either also exist under other reports or have been replaced by more meaningful alternatives.
As part of our ongoing effort to streamline reporting, we will be proceeding with the deprecation of the Campaign Monitors Report.
