Presentation Title

We're Adopting Canvas as Our LMS?! Faculty Perspectives on the Challenges, Opportunities, and Outcomes of Switching to Canvas

Session Overview

How in the world do you go about supporting a group of busy faculty through the ups and downs of switching to a new LMS, while simultaneously preparing 12,000+ students for this abrupt change, in less than 10 months time? Impossible?! Naaah. Intense? Most definitely!

With our transformation into ‘pandas’ complete, we’re happy to share lessons learned, success stories, and resources. We were intentionally consistent and persistent in pursuing faculty and student feedback throughout the entire transition and used their feedback to help insure we were supporting the college in the areas they needed most.

Join us to find out who had the strongest opinions (*cough*, faculty, *cough*) and on which topics, what the first two weeks in Canvas were really like, and how capturing personal experiences with a brand new LMS impacted teaching, learning and the development of a whole different approach to instructional technology training.

Walk away from our session with facts from our experience that led to resources you can use when you find yourself in a similar situation. We’ll also provide an outline for where we believe our attentions are headed next as we strive for quality and continuous improvement this academic year!
