What I’m looking forward to sharing with you.
Accessibility doesn’t have to be mystifying or intimidating. In fact, with the right tools and guidance, it can become one of the most empowering parts of your digital teaching practice.
As a former teacher, I saw firsthand how important it was to design lessons in the physical classroom so that all students—regardless of their needs or abilities—had the best chance to succeed. That same principle is just as vital, if not more so, in the digital space. Creating accessible content isn’t just about compliance—it’s about making learning better for everyone.
In this session, we’ll walk you through a demo course to spotlight common accessibility pitfalls and show you how to use Canvas tools (like the Accessibility Checker and Rich Content Editor) to fix them. You’ll leave feeling empowered, not overwhelmed—with resources in hand and a clear understanding of how to turn legislation into confident action.
Whether you’re new to accessibility or preparing your institution for what’s ahead, this session is about making digital equity something you can actually do—starting now.
Who I’m most excited to see in the audience.
The more the merrier—but these people should definitely beam into this session.
This session is for:
- Instructors and instructional designers who want to build more inclusive courses.
- Administrators preparing for the April 2026 compliance deadline.
- Anyone who’s ever looked at an accessibility policy and thought, “...Okay, but how do I do that?”
If you’re ready to move from confusion to clarity, this one’s for you.
Clues & Artifacts for you.
This blog will be your trailhead for all things post-session!
Whether you’re chasing Mothman or just looking to make your courses more inclusive, this session will help you bring clarity, confidence, and care to your digital content.
Have questions or something you’re especially hoping to learn? Add them as a comment below—I’d love to hear what’s on your mind and, if possible, address it during the session.
