Fill in the Blank regrade

Jump to solution

Is there a way to regrade a fill in the blank quiz?  I read the documentation and the regrade option doesn't apply to fill in the blank questions.  I a mistake is make on the key, how can it be regraded?

@lhenson , the only way that I know to do this is manually, student-by-student, question-by-question, from Speedgrader. Smiley Sad

Sounds like a good time to add another idea. I've always thought this would be a good one to add. Well, Leslie?

Agree.  I will pop this request in and see what happens.  I think it should be possible to regrade an entire quiz no matter what question types it contains.

@lhenson  &  @cwendt  - I did a quick search and found this feature idea that goes up for voting next month -

And I agree, it would be great to be able to regrade this type of question!

I notice this is still not fixed, and it's been five years since the OP. I assume the idea was voted down, but that makes no sense.

I've run into a lot of glitches and time sinks with the fill-in-the blank question feature, because it does not automatically go back and re-apply changes I make in the key when there was a mistake or omission. There still appears to be no button I can click to regrade either, the way there is with the multiple choice questions. The point of having write-in questions key graded is for me not to have to and hand grade everything individually, but sometimes I discover students are coming up with a correct answer I hadn't anticipated when making a key, so I need to add something and have it automatically fix it! I'm finding that even students who turn in their quizzes after I fixed the key are being graded with the old key as well.

I'd love to see this fixed.

I am bringing this back to the forefront to see if anyone else has found a solution.  I have a teacher whose entire quiz was fill in the blank. She needs to alter the answer choices for a couple of questions and then  regrade it.  Seems as though the only way to do this is manually for each student.  She is a HS teacher with 100+ students.  It will take her FOREVER to do this.  I hope someone has found a workaround for this.

Obviously this is an essential feature.

Once again Canvas shows that it's so-called "Quiz" feature is completely useless and that Canvas does not care about its customers at all.  How many years has it been since this feature was requested again???

Ridiculous.
