This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 5/08/24.
Description
Annotations from teachers are sometimes not showing up for students on previews for text based file submissions.
Expected Behavior
If a teacher successfully creates an annotation in speedgrader it should show up for the student when viewing the submission preview
Workaround
No workaround exists at this time.
Steps to Reproduce
This seems somewhat intermittent where sometimes they show up and sometimes they don’t. The reports we’re getting and the one I was able to replicate were on text based files (py, java, etc.)

Upload a txt based file to an assignment submission as a student

As the teacher add some annotations

As the student attempt to view your submission

Notice you’re not able to see the teachers annotations
