Display the characters "g", "%" and "<" in downloaded Speedgrader Submission Comments

This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 9/11/24.

Description

When a Teacher downloads the Speedgrader Submission Comments using a browser that has Adobe as the PDF reader or when they download the PDF and open it in Adobe, the characters "g", "%" and "<" are not displayed.

Expected Behavior

When a teacher downloads the SpeedGrader Submission Comments, all characters, including "g," "%," and "<," are displayed accurately in the PDF.

Workaround

No workaround exists at this time.

Steps to Reproduce

 

  1. Access SpeedGrader and locate the student for whom you have entered Submission Comments.
  2. Select the "Download Submission Comments" option.
  3. A new tab should open.
  4. If your PDF viewer is Adobe, you may notice missing characters in the document.
