Formulas using hidden sheets in excel show as “#REF!” in DocViewer... part 2

Canvas

This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 8/28/24.

Description

If using a hidden sheet in an excel formula docviewer fails to render the cell with the right value

Expected Behavior

Allow formula values to render that reference cell data in hidden sheets

Workaround

No workaround exists at this time.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create an excel file with at least two sheets

  2. On one sheet show a list of values (I just used a list of numbers)

  3. On the second sheet reference a cell from the first sheet (=<sheetname>!<cell>)

  4. Notice it renders the value

  5. Right click the first sheet in the bottom and select ‘hide’

  6. Save and upload to Canvas

  7. Notice now that the value shows as ‘REF!'
