[OPEN] [iOS] Student | Consortia student user logged in via root account unable to submit to group assignments

Description

When a student within a Consortia logs in to the iOS Canvas Student app via the Root account, they are unable to submit to group assignments. When they log in via the Child account in the Consortia, they are able to successfully submit to the group assignment.

Expected Behavior

Students should be able to submit to group assignments within a Consortia on the Canvas Student apps.

Workaround

No workaround exists at this time.

Steps to Reproduce

Prerequisites: A consortia where students are enrolled in a course, the course is published, and the course has an established Group Set. Ensure students have been placed in to groups within the Group Set.

  1. Create an assignment

  2. Toggle the selection for it to be a Group Assignment and select the Group Set confirmed above.

  3. Save and Publish the assignment

  4. Log into the root instance as a student assigned within the group on the Student Canvas app

  5. Navigate to the course

  6. Go to assignments

  7. Attempt to submit to the assignment and receive “submission failed” notification
